A superb, thoroughly modern example of Cahors Malbec, from a winery recently taken over by Herv? Fabre, renowned in Argentina as one of the country’s pioneers of the Malbec grape. Inky dark and bursting with dark cherry and blackberry fruit, joined by a hint of toasted spices. Generously ample and weighty in the mouth, with wonderful vigour and freshness in the finish. Match with roast beef, blue-cheese beef burgers, or wild rice and mushroom stuffed peppers.
